If you haven’t already seen this Evolution of Storage infographic, take a look. It’s beautiful and fun, and it has me thinking about the way we live.
The graphic falls apart on the right side, as the graphs stop following the key, but the infographic is pretty fascinating nonetheless.
Movie Trailer of the Day: As promised, Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof today unveiled the first full trailer for the highly anticipated “Alien prequel” Prometheus.
Synopsis:
In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system’s natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.
Ridley Scott, director of ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner,’ returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. The duo also participated in a 30-minute Q&A; earlier, at WonderCon, a shorter IMAX trailer was unveiled, as well as a viral video featuring a Weyland Industries ad for their line of David androids.

Jean Henri Gaston Giraud, aka Gir, aka Moebius
8 May 1938 – 10 March 2012
I’m at a complete loss for words right now. His influence on my life is more profound than I can properly express. I think I’m going to get offline for a while and read comics made by an untouchable genius. Wishing you all the best.
Goodbye, Jean.
Moebius Redux: A Life in Pictures
part 1/3
A wonderful BBC documentary about the life and work of Jean “Moebius” Giraud, from 2007. I’m so glad to finally see this online again. It’s got a lot of great footage with the man himself, some of it quite candid, as well as interviews with people such as Enki Bilal, Philippe Druillet, HR Giger, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Dan O’Bannon, Mike Mignola, Jim Lee, and others.
Lights Out: As part of a campaign to raise Alzheimer’s awareness, the Israeli Alzheimer Association (EMDA) attempted to convey the feeling of confusion and disorientation Alzheimer’s patients experience on a daily basis by showing thousands of moviegoers at the country’s largest cinema complex a different film than the one they expected to see.
